François Shenfield (United Kingdom)

Dr. Shenfield is Clinical Lecturer in Infertility and Honorary Lecturer in Medical Ethics at UCL Medical School, London. She is a member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and its Ethics committee, and Coordinator of ESHRE Special interest group (SIG) in ethics and law.

She has published over 40 articles on infertility and ethics of reproduction, and co edited several books on the subject (1995: Eds C.Sureau and F. Shenfield, John Libbey, eds, collection Ethique et Sciences, Paris), "Ethical aspects of human reproduction", bilingual English/French; "Ethical dilemmas in assisted reproduction, (Parthenon ed, Canthorpe), editors Shenfield and Sureau; 1998: Responses to Human Cloning, editors J. Egozcue and Francoise Shenfield, Institut d'Estudis Catalans Jornades cientifiques, Barcelona, Spain; 1998: Societal, medical and ethical implications of cloning, editor of proceedings of a workshop held at the Royal Society, London, European Commission, Science, Research and Development, Eur 18 180, Brussels; Dec 1999: guest editor with C. Sureau of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Bailliere's Best practice and research series 13:4 entitled ethical problems in Obstetrics and Gynaecology), as well as several chapters in multi authors books.
